Pick It Up Please uses stories and creative education to inspire people to make positive changes in the world around them.
Pick It Up Please began with a simple idea: creating a cleaner world starts with helping people see the world differently.
Our mission is to educate and inspire, especially by reaching children at an early age and helping them understand their relationship with the environment, their communities, and one another.
We believe that education doesn't have to begin in a classroom. It can begin with a story.
It can begin with a character.
It can begin with a question.
It can begin with something as simple as seeing a piece of garbage on the ground and deciding to Pick It Up Please.
Starting With Children
Children have an extraordinary ability to learn, ask questions, and influence the people around them. Pick It Up Please uses storytelling and creativity to introduce young readers to the importance of keeping our neighborhoods, parks, streets, beaches, rivers, and oceans cleaner. The Marcelin & Marcy series brings this message to life through two elephants and their growing circle of animal friends.
The books encourage children to explore ideas about:

It's to help them understand why it matters—and realize that they can be part of making it happen.
